Tyrogenex, Inc.

Tyrogenex is a part of the Xcovery Group of companies founded by Sherry Snyder (through Biocatalyst International) in partnership with Dr. Chris Liang.

In 2004, Sherry and Chris met at a symposium sponsored by Scripps Research Florida and discussed the need for a targeted small molecule inhibitor that could overcome the limitations of Sutent™ imposed by its toxicity profile and need for dosing holidays. Out of this conversation, Tyrogenex, Inc. was born in 2006 (originally named Xcovery, Inc.) with the mission of developing the next generation of VEGFR/PDGFR inhibitors without the toxicity limitations of currently approved drugs.

Through this partnership, Tyrogenex has developed a novel, patented cancer therapeutic, X-82. The compound, a dual VEGFR/PDGFR inhibitor, is the result of fourteen years of research and development by Dr. Chris Liang, the Tyrogenex Scientific Founder. Tyrogenex has initiated a First in Human clinical trial for the treatment of advanced solid tumors which commenced in February 2011.
